According to court records, Bustos of Greendale recorded hundreds of 10-second videos of high school girls using the locker room and a few videos show female students in their underwear and bra. One high school girl is seen partially n*de while taking off her bra but the video only captures her backside. The locker room was used mostly by girls aged between 9-12 with all of them under 18.

Many expressed deep disappointment and distress over the incident, emphasizing the betrayal felt by students who once relied on him for their safety. According to the criminal complaint, nearly 400 videos were retrieved from Bustos’ personal recording device, which had reportedly been concealed in a locker. One of the recovered videos allegedly showed him installing the hidden camera.

School officials revealed that while Bustos had been dismissed in early February due to performance-related concerns, the discovery of his recording devices and stored footage did not come to light until mid-February. In response to community outrage, the school has since prioritized students’ mental well-being, adjusting schedules to provide necessary support.
In a statement, Cristo Rey Jesuit High School reaffirmed its commitment to ensuring a safe environment, pledging full cooperation with law enforcement to bring Bustos to justice. Legal proceedings remain ongoing, with the possibility of additional charges as the investigation continues. If convicted, Bustos faces up to 3.5 years in prison and a $10,000 fine. His next court appearance is scheduled for mid-April.
